TAMMY PLUNKETT
Tammy Plunkett is the author of the June 2022 released, self-help book, Beyond Pronouns: The Essential Guide for Parents of Trans Children. She is the mother of four children (ages 14 to 25) each who identify as Queer, a former registered nurse, certified Life Coach with CTI, Founder of Parenting with Pride (an Alberta-based peer-led support group for parents of LGBTQIA+ children, teens, and young adults), and an international speaker. Tammy was inspired to write her book because, “I couldn’t find a book that was by parents for parents that addressed our needs in a way that supports and affirms the transgender child but also considers the parent’s emotional journey.” Ultimately, by sharing her journal, Tammy hopes readers will not only gain insight into how to support the trans child in their life, but also feel supported and inspired.
To support and promote the book launch campaign, Principio PR developed and implemented a public relations strategy. Highlights of the work Principio PR delivered include Tammy’s guest appearances on nation-wide, Canadian TV Talk Shows, The Social and The Marilyn Denis Show. Tammy was also a guest speaker at Toronto Pride (Street Fair in the Family Zone), and made several author appearances at Indigo locations in Calgary, Alberta and Toronto, Ontario.
